Formula 1 Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium

I had the pleasure to spend last weekend in Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium to shoot the Formula 1 qualifying and the race.
In addition, there were some other race events including track action by the GP3, Formula 2 and Porsche Supercup series.

Please find below a selection of some shots from yesterday’s race and the qualifying.

Summary:

Spectacular race on the track in in Spa-Francorchamps: Lewis Hamilton wins in front of Sebastian Vettel and Daniel Ricciardo. Crowd favorite Max Verstappen needs to stop his car already in lap 8 due to technical issues.
Special highlight: Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the first F1 victory of Michael Schumacher, his son Mick Schumacher drives one lap in his father’s Benetton Ford B194 around Schumacher’s favourite F1 track, also known as his “living room”.

VLN – 63. ADAC Westfalenfahrt (Nürburgring)

My first shoot in the domain of motorsports in 2017 was the first run of the endurance series VLN on the world’s greatest race track, the “Green Hell” – Nürburgring Nordschleife. VLN (Veranstaltergemeinschaft Langstreckenpokal Nürburgring) is an organisation of motorsport clubs – each of its members hosts one of the ten races of one season.

Due to the race length of four hours, there was enough time to change between different locations and shoot the cars from different angles. Has been a great experience at this sunny day with lots of action on the track. Formula 1 Silverstone 2016

The Formula 1 season is over and Nico Rosberg is the well-deserved F1 World Champion 2016! He is the third German after Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel to win the Formula 1 driver’s championship.

From 9th to 10th of July 2016, I had the pleasure to shoot the British Grand Prix, the Formula 1 race in the “Home of British Motorsports” – the Silverstone Circuit (United Kingdom).

I’ve been to F1 races several times before (in Germany and Belgium), but it was my first time visiting the British Grand prix. The whole weekend was definitely a festival-like experience. Lot of action on and aside the track.

62. ADAC Westfalenfahrt (Nürburgring)

Last Saturday, I made a trip to the world’s greatest race track, the “Green Hell” – Nürburgring Nordschleife.

In nice weather, the first race of the VLN Endurance Racing Championship Nürburgring was carried out on the “Ring”. VLN (Veranstaltergemeinschaft Langstreckenpokal Nürburgring) is an organisation of motorsport clubs – each of its members hosts one of the ten races of one season.

The participants in the series range from amateurs in small road cars to high performance professional race cars from the GT3 class.

The first race of this season was especically exciting due to the debut of several new cars on the track such as the BMW M6 GT3 or the Kremer-Porsche 997 K3 – a modified Porsche 911 GT3 Cup which is an homage to the successful winner car of the Le Mans 24h in 1979.

Has been a great experience to shoot various fascinating cars during the race from different locations at the track (Pflanzgarten, Brünnchen, Eschbach)!
